2013 model year changes

The Aston Martin DB9 has been redesigned for 2014. The changes are subtle, but do include a stiffer chassis and new body panels for more than 70 percent of the car, made from bonded and riveted aluminum. The result is a car slightly lighter than the one it replaces. Most noticeably, the front end features a new headlight treatment, lip spoiler, and fender vents. Underhood, the DB9's 6.0L V12 benefits from new cylinder heads, larger throttle bodies and dual variable valve timing, which results in a significant power bump; the engine is now rated at 510 hp and 457 ft-lb of torque. Aston claims a time of 4.6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. The 3-stage adaptive damping system has been tweaked, and Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes debut, which are both larger and lighter than equivalent steel brakes. The new DB9 coupe is priced at $183,300, while the open DB9 Volante is available starting at $198,300.
