2012 model year changes

After a redesign in 2011, this year's XJ is mostly unchanged. The 2012 XJ gets new Portfolio packages on the base model that include 20-way front seats, heated and cooled front and rear seats, 4-zone climate control, additional leather interior trim, and chrome power-operated vents. The Supersport loses standard adaptive cruise control. It's now available as an option.

Special features for 2012

The Jaguar XJ has always been a premium symbol of ultimate automotive luxury. Prices start at $74,000, but that buys a smooth, powerful drivetrain as well as a specific kind of comfort and elegant, understated style that has always been emblematic of the XJ-- the kind unavailable from BMW, Audi or Cadillac.
The 2012 Jaguar XJ is a full-sized luxury sedan available with three different engines; a standard 5.0-liter V8 engine (385 hp/380 lb-ft of torque), optional 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine (470 hp/424 lb-ft torque), and a performance-oriented 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine (510 hp/461 lb-ft of torque). RWD paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission enables the XJ to achieve fuel mileage within an EPA estimated range of 15 mpg city to 23 mpg highway, depending on engine selection. Features include LED accents, bi-function HID xenon headlamps, heated exterior mirrors, push-button start, steering-wheel mounted controls, heated/cooled seats, navigation, hands-free phone capabilities, and CD/DVD player. Safety is comprised of a protective body shell, advanced airbags, blind-spot monitor, automatic speed limiter, tire pressure monitoring, emergency brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, anti-lock braking, traction control, dynamic stability control, and cornering brake control. The XJ is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
