Acura began with no intention of developing an economy car, though efficiencies are everywhere. The obvious competitors are BMW's X6 and the Infiniti FX35. The ZDX is priced directly between the two models, with interior technologies at the top of its specialized segment and luxury appointments well above the competition.
A mid-size luxury crossover, the 2012 Acura ZDX boasts fastback styling while utilizing a front engine AWD layout. The ZDX is powered by a 3.7-liter aluminum-alloy V6 engine that produces 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift paddle shifters is paired with the engine to enable to ZDX to achieve an EPA estimated 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway, for a combined average of 19 mpg.
