Special features for 2011
This is one of the most fun cars on the road for under $30,000 -- and it gets 28 mpg on the highway. There are a lot of standard features packed into that little cockpit, including comfort features such as air conditioning and safety necessities such as front and side airbags. As the car is unchanged from 2010, the 2011 MX-5 will likely earn the EPA's SmartWay fuel-friendly certification, as it did last year.
The 2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata is a RWD roadster available in a typical soft-top or power-retractable hard top. This lightweight sports car that boasts "perfect balance” is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 167 hp at 7000 rpm. Available transmissions include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic. All manual transmissions come standard with a short-throw shifter. The Miata gets an EPA estimated 21 mpg city and 28 mpg hwy. Upgrading from the Sport trim to Touring or Grand Touring will grant you 17-inch alloy wheels and chrome grill surround. Optional Packages include a Suspension Package (consists of sport-tuned suspension, upgraded shock absorbers, and limited-slip differential) as well as a Premium Package (consists of xenon headlights, advanced keyless entry/start system, hands-free phone capability, and dynamic stability control/traction control). The Miata comes standard with front/side-impact airbags and is eligible for an extended protection plan up to 10 years/100,000 miles.
