2011 model year changes

Following the introduction of all-new IS 250C and IS 350C retractable-hardtop convertible models last year, the IS sedans receive a bit more attention this year. For 2011, the Lexus IS sedan lineup especially takes a step toward a sportier image and more performance potential. A new IS 350 AWD (all-wheel drive) model is added to the IS sedan lineup. There's also a new F Sport Package available on rear-wheel-drive IS 250 and IS 350 models, which adds some of the appearance upgrades, as well as a sport suspension and sportier steering tuning. A special new Ultrasonic Blue color is available with the package. The Lexus IS 250 and IS 350 sedans get a new black-metallic trim inside, as well as a new headlight and taillight design. Also new this year, sedans get newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels and optional 18-inchers. LED running lamps are also new to the lineup this year. They're included in all IS 350 and IS-F sedans but optional on IS 250 sedans and all IS C convertibles.

Special features for 2011

The Lexus IS family now includes something for most compact luxury coupe, convertible or sedan shoppers--with offerings ranging from conservative all-weather all-wheel drive sedans to sunny convertibles and serious track-duty sport sedans. The IS sedans ride and handle well and offer some of the tech options of larger luxury models, while the IS C models have excellent packaging with a tight-fitting, quick-folding automatic hardtop that stows away without taking up the entire trunk. While Lexus makes an ES 350 model that's roomier and more comfortable-riding, the IS is considerably sportier in every way.
Adding Bi-Xenon HID headlamps for 2011, the Lexus IS 350 front end is refreshed with a dark metallic finish now accenting the grill. Powered by a 3.5 liter V-6 engine worth 306 horsepower, the 2011 Lexus IS 350 fuel economy has improved for the 2010 model. Achieving 20 miles city and 27 miles highway per gallon, the 2011 Lexus IS 350 is posting a gain of 2 points over last year. With the Lexus IS 350 previously sold as a rear-wheel drive car only, all-wheel drive premium sedan fans can now enjoy the choice of a Lexus IS 350 AWD for 2011. While the 2011 Lexus IS 350 AWD adds a surefooted control of the road, fuel economy drops through average driving by 2 miles per gallon. Featuring a generous standard feature list, the 2011 Lexus IS 350 models come with power windows, HomeLink transceiver, cruise control, Lexus' SmartAccess push button start and a 13-speaker premium sound system. The F Sport package is added for 2011 to the rear-wheel drive version of the Lexus IS 350 delivering specialized equipment including sports-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels with a Dark Graphite finish as well as a front lip and rear spoiler.
