We''ve owned this car for 7 years and 74,000 miles. Overall a pretty good "sporty" car. Acceleration, handling, and braking are all top notch, taught, and predictable. However, ride quality is significantly sacrificed, there''s a good bit of road and wind noise, MPG hasn''t lived up to our expectations (24 average), and it likes to eat tires. Kia has graciously covered three recalls, and a new AC system. Would have loved to own it when I was running around on winding country roads, but not the long, straight, and deteriorating Texas highways I have today. We''re upgrading to a Cadenza.

We have owned this car for 2.5 years and have enjoyed it. Bought it to be more conservative last cars were an Audi A6 and then a VW Phaeton (Audi A8L). The Optima is not those cars but it is not nearly the drop off that I thought we would experience. For $25k we have cooled leather heated steering wheel panoramic sunroof good looks comfortable and get low to mid 20''s gas mileage in town and low to mid 30''s on freeway drives. The car has been trouble free and is holding up very well. The only gripe ...the stock tires (Nexen) that Kia puts on originally are disappointing.

We have owned this car for 2 2 years with no problems. It has so much acceleration that you would not imagine it to be a 4 cylinder. In town mileage averages around 25 and highway is easily 34+. It has great looks and drives comfortably. The one minor thing that I think should be improved is that at night the buttons on the steering wheel such as cruise radio etc. are hard to see. They are lighted but very dimly which make them difficult to see at a glance. Otherwise this car has been very reliable for us.

With a small 4 cylinder engine the 6 speed transmission shifts a lot for acceleration and improved fuel economy. Luckily it is a very smooth shifting transmission. For normal acceleration it is fine but I personally would like some extra power.
The high back glass causes a wide blind spot but that is the style. The electronic rear view mirror needs more shade at night. It is too bright for me.
It''s a good car. I''m debating on purchasing it or just get another Optima lease.

It has been an excellent car since I got it 26 miles ago. It has features not abailable on other mid-sized cars. With the Premium package I have heated and cooled front seats heated rear seats heated steering wheel memory seats panoramic sunroof leather memory seats and a lot of other options. I get in the mid30s on the highway and upper 20s overall.
