The 2010 Infiniti G37 Coupe comes standard with a 3.7-liter V6 engine producing 328 hp and a choice between a 7-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. A step up from 2009, the fuel economy is EPA-estimated at 19 mpg city/27 mpg highway while the Sport trim remains approximately 17 city/25 highway. Standard features for all trims include front, side and curtain airbags, brake assist, XM Satellite Radio ready along with an iPod port and Bluetooth functionality for the non-base trims.
2010 model year changes
Infiniti's G series got a new name and a new engine for 2009, so changes for 2010 are pretty minor. The coupe has new interior colors and trim, while the sedan gets a new grille and headlights in addition to the interior upgrades. Both the coupe and sedan have new options added to the list, including an air purifier and the sedan adds a standard 8-way power passenger seat. The convertible continues unchanged, as it was introduced only last year.
Competitive comparison
Good performance from a top-rated engine; updated interior; three body styles available
Special features for 2010
The new engine in the G37 made it onto Ward's Ten Best Engines list for its performance, while the interior comfort and amenities give the car a luxury feel. According to Infiniti, the new interior was inspired by Japanese calligraphy, and new fascias on the sedan help to increase the G37's curb appeal. The addition of the convertible model last summer completes the sports-luxury lineup -- putting it solidly in competition with the BMW 3 series.
