A minivan with seating for up to seven passengers, the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan is available in two FWD trims. The base SE is powered by a 175 hp 3.3L V6 which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The SXT comes standard with a 3.8L V8 generating 197 hp but a 251 hp 4.0L V6 is optional, and both of these engines link to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Grand Caravan is able to hit well over 20 mpg on the highway.
2010 model year changes
The 2010 Grand Caravan carries on virtually the same, and is scheduled for a redesign in 2011.
Competitive comparison
Very versatile interior; comfortable ride; tons of storage space; lots of entertainment options
Special features for 2010
There are three trim levels for the Grand Caravan, and even the priciest, most feature-laden model comes in well under $30,000. There are fewer competitors in the minivan segment, and the Grand Caravan more than holds its own, with fold-flat seats, LED reading lights, heated mirrors and three engines to choose from, plus curtain airbags for all three rows of passengers.
