The 2009 Pontiac G8 is a carryover from 2008 in which it was introduced. The Pontiac G8 is available in a base trim and the sportier GT. Also launching this year is the GXP trim, with a 6.2L V8 making 402 hp. The base trim utilizes a 256-hp 3.6L V6 and a 5-speed automatic, while the GT gets the 361-hp 6.0L V8 and a 6-speed automatic. 2009 Pontiac G8 safety features include 6 airbags, 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, OnStar and tire pressure monitoring all standard. Also included are sport suspension, 18-in alloy wheels and XM satellite radio. The GT features automatic dual-zone climate control, a premium 6-disc Blaupunkt sound system, performance tires and a limited slip differential. Optional features for the 2009 Pontiac G8 include a power sunroof and heated seats which are available on both trims, as well as 19-in alloy wheels which are available on the 2009 G8 GT. The V6 achieves 17 mpg city/25 mpg hwy and the V8 gets 15/25 mpg. Bluetooth is now standard on all G8 models. Keep your eyes peeled for the G8 truck, think El Camino, which debuts sometime in 2009.
