2009 model year changes
There aren't many changes in the Maybach sedan (or saloon, as they call it) lineup. The 62 is still a long-wheelbase version of the 57, and there are still sportier S versions of each model. Two champagne flutes still come standard, as does a rear refrigerator.
Understated ultra-luxury; truly top-of-the-line comfort, ride, and power; impeccable appointments include champagne flutes and perfume atomizer
Special features for 2009
When you're talking about a Maybach, you're not really talking about value. With models starting at $350,750, these cars are about luxury. The base 57 and 62 have V12 5.5L twin-turbo engines that can be upgraded to a 6.0L twin-turbo in the S models. Either way, the chauffeur can pilot a Maybach from 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. Fuel economy is 11 mpg city, 16 mpg highway. Folding tables and fabric window curtains are the kinds of standard equipment a Maybach owner can expect for his or her money.
A carryover from last year, the 2009 Maybach 62s super-luxury sedan has the greater length and interior volume of the chauffeur-driven 62 model but features a supercharged engine and unique touches, such as carbon-fiber cabin accents, a stylish grille and dual exhaust tips. According to Maybach 62s specifications, the sedan is equipped with a twin-turbo-charged 604-hp 6.0L V12 engine blasting 738 lb-ft of torque, paired to a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The engine, which went through extensive refinement at the Mercedes-AMG manufacturing facility, delivers instantaneous power delivery at barely perceptible noise levels. The rear-wheel drive luxury car is good for 0-60 in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Fuel economy, according to EPA estimates, is 10 mph city/16 mph hwy. The Maybach 62s features a radiator grille with twin louvers, distinctive main headlamps, elegant chrome front fog lamps, exclusive wheels and a custom-designed exhaust system with two visible tailpipes. Safety equipment includes the Electronic Stability Program, ASR acceleration skid control and a full array of airbags.
