The revised version of the HEMI powerplant, the engine is both more powerful and delivers better fuel economy. Producing 357 horsepower, the 2009 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 adds an MDS (Multi-displacement System) that allows the engine to run as a four-cylinder when the vehicle isn't under great stress. Minor interior changes have been undertaken with every Jeep model. A mild instrument panel remodeling is present on most products while the 2009 Jeep Patriot and Compass enjoy a more thorough remodel. For an extra level of terrain control, Hill Start Assist is added to all Jeep Wrangler for 2009.
