Special features for 2009

The 2009 Dodge Sprinter continues to offer versatility to those who need to transport both goods and people. It can be configured to accommodate anywhere from nine to twelve passengers, and a high roof option adds lots of headroom or cargo space. On the road, the Sprinter drives like it's much smaller than it is. When properly equipped, the Sprinter can tow up to 7,900 pounds.
The 2009 Dodge Sprinter Wagon 12-passenger van is equipped with the 3.0L turbo-diesel V6 which is now the only available engine, because last year's optional 3.5L gasoline V6 has been discontinued. In most other respects, the 2009 Sprinter reveals only minor changes. The 2009 Sprinter is powered by a 3.0L turbo-diesel V6 generating 154 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque and is capable of fuel economy in the mid-20s. The only available transmission is a 5-speed automatic with an auto-manual mode. 2009 Dodge Sprinter standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes and stability control, while front-seat side and head curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera are optional. Other than the Dodge shield on the steering wheel, the Sprinter's interior is almost identical to that of the Mercedes-Benz version sold worldwide. The 2009 Dodge Sprinter's build quality is significantly better than that of other full-size vans.
