2009 model year changes
For 2009, the Aveo sedan is largely unchanged, while the Aveo5 hatchback receives a significant facelift both outside and in. The exterior has a sportier, more modern look, while interior materials have been upgraded. The Aveo now utilizes a new, more fuel-efficient Ecotec 1.6L inline-4 with variable valve timing. As a result, power is up 4 horsepower to 107. GM's OnStar system is now standard on all Aveo models. The Aveo5 Special Value Model (SVM) has been dropped, so that both sedan and hatchback are now offered in LS and LT trims. Ten exterior colors are now available.
Lowest priced car in America; very good fuel economy; roomy interior.
Special features for 2009
The 2009 Chevrolet Aveo appeals to shoppers primarily on the basis of its very low initial price, which makes it the lowest-priced passenger car currently for sale in the U.S. By utilizing "tall car" design aesthetics, both body styles are quite roomy inside and have a comfortable ride relative to other small cars. The standard GM OnStar helps to set it apart from other cars in its class.
