2008 model year changes
The Pontiac Vibe continues into 2008 as one front-wheel-drive hatchback model, with very little changing from the 2007 model year. The Sun and Sound Package now includes a six-disc CD changer, and a tire pressure monitor is standard. A complete redesign is expected for the 2009 model year.
Economical versatility; fuel economy.
Special features for 2008
The 2008 Pontiac Vibe continues to offer a youthful mix of versatility and practicality. Nearly 20 cubic feet of space resides behind the rear seat, with 54 cubic feet on hand when the rear seat is folded down. At 33 mpg on the highway (using the EPA's modified 2008 ratings), the Vibe ranks as one of the most efficient vehicles in General Motors' lineup. Reliability has been above average over its six-year run.
A carry-over from 2007, the Vibe is a four-door five-passenger cross-over SUV featuring a 1.8-liter VVT inline four-cylinder that produces 126 horsepower and 122 ft.-lb. of torque. The Vibe comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission or the optional four-speed automatic. There is only one model offered for the Vibe, complete with a variety of options.
