For 2008 the Pontiac Torrent has 2 new models, the GXP in a Front Wheel Drive and an All Wheel Drive. The GXP comes with a 3.6L V6 VVT engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, 18" tires and aluminum wheels, hydraulic power steering and performance tuned suspension as standard. Also for 2008, Stabilitrak comes with an integrated electronic sway control, a compass is now standard with the Driver Information Center and there is an optional chrome package. Deep Blue Metallic, Teal Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic are three new colors available on the 2008 Torrent.
