2008 model year changes

For 2008, GM introduces the GEN-IV Vortec engines for the Savana Passenger vans. The new 3/4-ton model now comes with a 6.0L V8 gasoline engine standard, as does the full-ton Savana. Also, newly standard on all of the Savana passenger vans are head curtain side air bags, an expanded driver information center, and revised audio systems.

The 2008 GMC Savana passenger van is an excellent vehicle for those who need to haul as many as 15 people or a lot of cargo. Both rear- and all-wheel drive are available, and the Savana can tow as much as 9,800 pounds when properly equipped.

Side curtain airbags are newly-added to the GMC Savana Passenger Van for 2008, as well as a newly-added steering wheel, gauges and stereo system. The Savana Passenger Van is offered in 1500, 2500 and 3500 configurations, with your choice of RWD or AWD and extended length (depending on the model). Passenger capacity in the standard length Savana is eight, with passenger capacity for up to twelve in the extended-length version. The standard engine is a 301 horsepower 5.3-liter gas-powered V8 with a 4-speed overdrive-enabled automatic transmission.
