2008 model year changes

The Dodge Nitro, introduced in 2007, enters its second model year with only a few minor changes. The sporty R/T model gets new two-tone seats, with inserts in a choice of Inferno Red, Electric Blue, or Sunburst Orange. A newly available SXT C Package brings a body-color fascia, fender flares, and body side molding. Also, major options are brought together into several packages, called the Travel Group, Convenience Group, and Premium Sound Package. Safety-wise, a new trailer sway control system is standard in addition to the electronic stability control, and a ParkSense rear park assist system is now available as an option. Brilliant Black, Light Graystone, and Modern Blue are new colors for 2008.

Special features for 2008

The 2008 Dodge Nitro, which is closely related to the Jeep Liberty, appeals to buyers based on its aggressive and unique styling and flexible interior. And especially with the new standard trailer sway control system, it's going to be one of the best compact SUVs for towing.
A carry-over from its introduction in 2007, the Nitro is a four-door five-passenger SUV offered in three trim levels. The SXT and SLT feature a 3.7-liter V6 that produces 210 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission as standard, with a five-speed automatic as optional. The RT model features a 4.0-liter V6 that increases the horsepower to 255, and is only available with a five-speed automatic. All models are offered in two or four-wheel-drive configuration.
