Although the V6-powered Mazda CX-9 has styling that is similar to Mazda's smaller, sportier Mazda CX-7, it is an all-new-for-2007, seven-passenger, family-oriented crossover sport utility vehicle that is closely related mechanically to the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX.

Boasting one of the most versatile interiors of any crossover SUV its size, the 2007 Mazda CX-9 can accommodate up to seven adults or various combinations of cargo and people. With an available power liftgate and simple straps to pull the seats in place, along with easy access to the third row, it's also one of the more usable systems. The Mazda CX-9 blurs the lines between sporty, luxurious, practicality, and safety, offering a good compromise in a family-oriented wagon.
New for 2007, the CX9 is a full-size cross-over SUV that features seating for seven and is available in Sport, Touring and GT trim levels. Power comes from a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 263 horsepower linked to six-speed automatic transmission (with either front or rear-wheel-drive configuration).
