For 2006, the eight-vehicle Volvo lineup features an all-new C70 model. The second-generation C70 exists as a sporty yet elegant hardtop convertible based on the same platform as the S40. A 218-horsepower, turbocharged five-cylinder engine is used to power the four-passenger 2006 Volvo C70. Two Volvo products feature the reduction of powerplant choices for the 2006 model year. The 2006 Volvo S80 has dropped its six-cylinder engine leaving sole propulsion for the flagship sedan to a 208-horsepower, turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder powerplant. The Volvo V70 wagon line loses the 247-horsepower T5 trim model. For 2006, the XC70 cross country wagon and XC90 premium sport utility vehicle adds character-infused versions. The Volvo XC70 Ocean Race Special Edition is exclusively featured in Ocean Blue metallic paint, special 17-inch wheels mounted to all-terrain tires, power glass moonroof and blue stitched leather seating. The 311-horsepower Volvo XC90 Ocean Race model features a similar appearance treatment as the special XC70. The S40, S60 and V50 wagon enter 2006 with no major changes.
