For Porsche fans of the small, nimble and relatively affordable Boxster wishing for a fixed roof version of the vehicle, the Cayman is a long-awaited dream. Premiering in 2006, the Porsche Cayman comes only in an S trim version propelled by a 295-horsepower 3.4-liter flat-6 engine featuring VarioCam Plus technology. The hardtop body style construction allows the Cayman S to post better acceleration and lap times than the convertible Boxster S. Following the 2005 introduction of the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S on a type 997 platform, four-wheel drive version of the famed Porsche sports car appears for 2006. Featuring a wide-body appearance, the 325-horsepower 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and the 355-horsepower 911 Carrera 4S are both new arrivals on the new performance car platform. A few minor improvements have been made to the Porsche Cayenne sport utility vehicle for 2006 that includes an upgraded advanced airbag system and an available electronic logbook and telephone module.
