Leading Mazda into the 2006 model year, the brand's beloved sports car is depicted as a new generation vehicle. Sharing no components with the previous model, the 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata features a vibrant new appearance, a 2.0-liter engine and improved handling. Smaller than a typical minivan but sporting more generous proportions than a compact hatchback, the six-passenger Mazda5 debuts as an accommodating urban lifestyle vehicle. Offered in Sport and Touring trim levels, the 2006 Mazda5 boasts a configurable seating arrangement and minivan-like sliding doors. A host of changes has been applied to the Mazda6 for 2006. An improved, sharpened appearance, retuned suspension and a five-speed automatic transmission with four-cylinder powered models are among enhancements to the sedan, Sport Wagon and 5-Door hatchback body styles of the Mazda6. All-new to the line-up is a Mazdaspeed6 sedan powered by a 274-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Cruise control is now a standard feature on the 2006 Mazda Tribute and an anti-theft system is found on the B-Series compact pickup truck.
