The 2005 model year has all-wheel drive vehicle manufacturer Subaru seeking to gain serious traction with an all-new version of their flagship. With new powerplants and improved features, the new look 2005 Subaru Legacy targets the upscale family vehicle buyer with a four-door sedan and wagon. Technology found in the WRX STI, Subaru's AVCS (Active Valve Control System) is now integrated into the new turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-4 engine used on the 2005 Legacy line-up. Besides the transformation of the Legacy, other changes are also found among other vehicles in the Subaru line-up for 2005. The 2005 Subaru Impreza receives a revised interior featuring a new steering wheel and dash panel design. On WRX and WRX STI variants of the 2005 Impreza, automatic climate control is now included. Featuring special details and badging, the Subaru Forester L.L. Bean edition provides buyers of the crossover wagon an expanded trim level selection. The 2005 Subaru Baja Turbo model is now offered in a more affordably trimmed version with cloth seating and a manual transmission.
