Saab's product line has doubled in size for the 2005 model year through the introduction of two all-new vehicles featuring available all-wheel drive. Adopted from the Subaru Impreza wagon, the Saab 9-2X presents a distinct front and rear as well as additional catering to premium buyers. Based on the same platform as the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, the 2005 Saab 9-7X is the brand's first truck-based sport utility vehicle. An inline-six engine and a 300-horsepower V-8 are provided as propulsion for the all-wheel drive 9-7X. A navigation system has become optional equipment on the Saab 9-5 for 2005 while the Saab 9-3 Convertible is now offered in a Linear base trim level.
