Increasing exposure in the premium sedan and crossover utility market in recent years, Hyundai's primary focus is placed in performance for 2003. An all-new Hyundai Tiburon debuts in 2003 as a more purposeful sports car. The 2003 Tiburon features aggressively molded exterior styling and a bolder engine line-up. For the first time, a six-cylinder engine is available on the Hyundai Tiburon. The 181-horsepower V-6 engine on the 2003 Tiburon GT can also be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The 2003 Hyundai Accent is revised with an updated exterior appearance and the addition of a GT trim level. The 106-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine is now equipped on all Accent models. A mid-2002 refresh to the Hyundai Santa Fe enriches the sport utility vehicle with standard four-wheel disc brakes and an optional moonroof. Minor interior enhances have been made to both the Hyundai Sonata and XG350 sedans for 2003.
