The 2001 Chrysler product line contains a total of three completely redesigned vehicles as well as an all-new product. Among the first notable updates is performed to the brand's mid-sized car segment contenders. Chrysler drops the Cirrus nameplate with the completely-designed mid-sized vehicle line relying instead on the Sebring name to represent coupe, sedan and convertible models. Chrysler minivans, the Voyager as well as the Town & Country, enter 2001 with new interior and exterior styling. A wider overall appearance, larger headlights and a revised dashboard were some additions found with the 2001 minivan redesign. A power liftgate and a removable center console were a few innovations incorporated with the new minivans. One major difference with the Chrysler Voyager minivan entering 2001 is its presence solely on the shorter 113.3-inch wheelbase without the choice of the Grand Voyager. Originally intended for the Plymouth brand, the all-new Chrysler PT Cruiser debuts as a practical compact vehicle featuring styling influence from cars of the 1930s. The 2001 PT Cruiser's wagon-like shape and four-cylinder engine power operates as a new, economical entrance to the Chrysler brand. Side impact front airbags are now available on the Chrysler Concorde, 300M and LHS sedans.
