The AMG GT supercar is the second vehicle developed exclusively for the Mercedes-Benz AMG line developed as a successor to the SLS AMG. The rear-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz AMG GT supercar is shaped using lightweight aluminum construction. The performance stance of the Mercedes-Benz supercar is defined with a long hood, swept roof, robust fenders and functional air openings. Unlike the SLS AMG's gullwing-style doors, entry to the two-seat cabin of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is provided with doors opening in a conventional motion. Mercedes-Benz AMG prepared two versions of the supercar for the global market but only the top-trimmed GT S model arrived in the United States for 2016. Powered by a handcrafted, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine, the AMG GT S is influenced through 503 horsepower. An AMG performance exhaust system, electronic rear locking differential and electronically controlled damping are additional traits of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S. Ultimately a lighter vehicle than its Mercedes-Benz predecessor, the AMG GT S can sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds.
