2009 Volkswagen Rabbit
2009 Volkswagen Rabbit
For 2009, the four-door Volkswagen Rabbit is now equipped with a standard six-speed automatic transmission, while all trims get standard stability control. Available with either two or four doors, the five-passenger VW Rabbit compact hatchback is powered by a 2.5L five-cylinder engine that pushes out 170 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on the two-door Rabbit, with a six-speed automatic optional, but the four-door Rabbit comes with a mandatory automatic. EPA fuel economy estimates for an automatic-transmission Rabbit are 21 mpg city/29 mpg hwy and 24 mpg in combined driving. Both the two- and four-door VW Rabbit come with standard safety features that include antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags; however, rear-seat side airbags are optional on the four-door. Fun to drive yet practical, too, Volkswagen Rabbit photos and 360 views show all of the value that is offered for a relatively low price.
