2009 Subaru Impreza Wagon
2009 Subaru Impreza Wagon
After the redesign last year, the 2009 Subaru Impreza Wagon remains a five-door hatchback and no major changes. Impreza 2.5 i and Outback Sport are propelled by a horizontally opposed 2.5L four-cylinder engine grinding out 170 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, while the Impreza 2.5 GT has a turbocharged version of the engine that produces 224 hp and 226 lb-ft of torque. Subaru Impreza Wagon specifications include all-wheel drive, a passenger capacity of five, and either a five-speed manual transmission with incline start assist or a four-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. However, the 2.5 GT offers only an automatic transmission. EPA fuel efficiency estimates range from 20 mpg city/27 mpg hwy and 22 mpg in combined driving for the non-turbocharged trims with manual transmission down to 1 mpg less on the highway for automatic-transmission base trims, while the 2.5 GT trim scores 19/24/21 mpg. Standard safety features include stability control, antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.
