After a full redesign last year, the 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX high-performance sedan gets a more powerful 265-hp engine, stiffer suspension tuning and the aero body kit, including front and rear spoilers and side ground effects. The WRX is available only with a manual transmission, since last year's WRX automatic transmission trim is now the Impreza 2.5 GT. The WRX is equipped with a 2.5L turbocharged engine that cranks out 265 hp and 244 lb-ft. According to Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX specifications, this four-door model comes as all-wheel drive and five-speed manual only. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the WRX achieves18 mpg city/25 mpg hwy and 21 mpg in combined driving. Standard safety features are stability control, antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints to help reduce whiplash. Other WRX features are 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with high-performance tires, a sport-tuned suspension, sport front seats and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with audio controls. |
