Essentially unchanged for 2009, the Subaru Tribeca is a midsize crossover SUV that comes in base, Limited and Special Edition trims, each available in five- or seven-passenger configurations. Five-passenger base trims feature 18-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, a tilt steering wheel, power front seats and accessories, cruise control, a CD/MP3 player with an auxiliary audio jack, a seven-inch display screen and remote keyless entry. Seven-passenger trims add a 50/50 split-folding third-row seat and rear climate controls. The all-wheel-drive Tribeca is powered by a 3.6L horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine generating 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque paired to a mandatory five-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode. EPA-estimated fuel economy is gauged at 16 mpg city/21 mpg hwy. Subaru Tribeca standard safety features include traction and stability control, antilock brakes with brake assist, a rollover-sensor system, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. |
