The 2009 Lexus IS 350, a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sport sedan, received some welcomed upgrades over last year, including new front and rear fascias, wheel designs, turn-signal side mirrors and paint colors. On the interior, the IS 350 now has an updated center console, gauge cluster and folding rear headrests, and underneath, it benefits from retuned suspension and steering systems. The rear-wheel-drive 2009 Lexus IS 350 is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine that generates 306 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque, with a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters, which is the only transmission choice. While not an out-and-out sports car, the IS 350 acceleration is creditable, achieving 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. EPA fuel economy estimates stand at 18 mpg city/25 mpg hwy and 20 mpg combined. Lexus IS 350 standard safety features provide antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. A featured option that comes with the adaptive cruise control is the pre-collision system (PCS) to respond to potential crashes. |
