Upgrades for the 2009 Jeep Liberty SUV include retuned suspension and brake booster for improved pedal motion, new floor mats and an automatic unlock feature. The Liberty Limited gets new interior trim, leather-wrapped shift knob, parking brake, steering wheel and grab handles. With a choice of either rear- or four-wheel drive, the Liberty is propelled by a 3.7L, 210-hp V6 engine with 235 lb-ft of torque. The Sport trim offers a choice of either a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, while the luxury-oriented Limited offers only an automatic transmission. EPA-rated fuel economy for the Liberty stacks up at 16 mpg city/22 mpg hwy for the 4X2, while the 4X4 achieves 15 mpg city/21 mpg hwy. Jeep Liberty safety features are highlighted by advanced multistage driver and front-passenger airbags with Occupant Classification System, supplemental side-curtain airbags, roll-sensing technology for additional side-impact protection and shoulder restraint seatbelts for five passengers, all of which help the Liberty to score well in government front and side crash testing. |
