Mostly unchanged from last year, the 5-passenger 2009 Honda Accord Coupe gets a slightly more powerful V6 engine that produces 271 hp, instead of the previous 268 hp, and 254 lb-ft of torque paired to front-wheel drive and a 5-speed automatic. The 2-door coupe boasts a standard 2.4L four-cylinder engine that generates 190 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque and comes equipped with a standard five-speed manual, while a five-speed automatic is optional. Known for excellent fuel economy, four-cylinder Accord Coupes with automatic transmissions get 21 mpg city/30 mpg hwy and 24 mpg combined; however, manual transmission boosts those numbers to 22/31/25. The six-cylinder engine gets EPA estimates of 19 mpg city/28 mpg hwy and 22 mpg when combined with the automatic transmission. The manual-shift V6 coupe decreases the fuel economy to 17/25/20.
