Few significant changes for 2009, the Acura MDX remains a sporty 7-passenger luxury SUV powered by a 3.7L V6 with 300 hp, 275 lb-ft of torque, and 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. Fuel economy is an estimated 15 mpg city/20 mpg hwy and 17 mpg combined. The MDX features the same Super Handling AWD system (SH-AWD), found in the Acura RL and Acura TL sport sedans, which transfers different levels of power to individual wheels to maximize traction and grip through turns and in inclement weather. Standard equipment includes 18-in wheels, sunroof, xenon headlights, automatic climate control, heated seats, tilting steering column, fold-up third-row seat, trip computer, and Bluetooth. Standard safety equipment for the Acura MDX includes antilock disc brakes with brake assist, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. The Acura MDX has an updated navigation system, and a power tailgate has been added to the Technology and Sport packages. |
