For 2009, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV exterior changes feature new front and rear bumpers, a new grille and redesigned headlights. The interior sports new climate control buttons, a new optional rear-seat entertainment system and the COMAND system with Bluetooth. All-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission come standard. The ML320 Bluetec is equipped with a 3.0L turbodiesel V6 that produces at 210 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, and scores fuel economy ratings of 18 mpg city/24 mpg hwy. The ML350 provides a 3.5L V6 that is good for 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, and gets an estimated 15 mpg city/20 mpg hwy and 17 mpg combined. The ML550 is powered by a 5.5L V8 that pushes out 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque, and is rated at 13/18/15 mpg. The top power performer in the lineup, the ML63 AMG, boasts a 6.3L V8, packing 503 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, with rankings in the 11/15/12 mpg ranges. Mercedes M-Class standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, hill descent/ascent control and a full complement of airbags.
