2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid
2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid
With no significant changes for 2009, the GMC Yukon Hybrid full-size SUV features GM's patented hybrid system, which delivers up to 50 percent greater fuel efficiency than its gas-powered sibling — yet retains Yukon's impressive towing capability. Providing a choice of rear- or four-wheel drive, the Yukon Hybrid is powered by a 6.0L V8 engine teamed to a pair of 60-kilowatt electric motors with an electrically variable transmission, and together they produce 332 hp and 367 lb-ft of torque. Using electricity only, the hybrid can achieve approximately 25 mph, while the cylinder-deactivation system helps reduce fuel consumption at higher speeds, and the regenerative braking system replenishes the batteries at stops. GMC Yukon Hybrid fuel economy is 21 mpg city/22 mpg hwy for 2WD, and the 4WD gets 20/20 mpg. With a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds, the Yukon Hybrid's versatile interior seats eight passengers and offers up to 108.9 cubic feet of cargo room. Standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, traction control, full-length side curtain airbags, OnStar communications system, and a rearview camera.
