The 2009 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is a four-door, five-passenger SUV with a pickup bed. The Sport Trac is a midsize sport utility vehicle that is similar in size to the Ford Explorer and features similar styling and power but has a versatile cargo area in the rear. The Explorer Sport Trac is available in rear-wheel, four-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. All trims can be equipped with either a 210 hp 4.0L V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission or a 292 hp 4.6L V8 engine and six-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features on the Ford Explorer Sport Trac include AdvanceTrac with roll stability control, anti-lock disc brakes and a tire pressure monitoring system. Dual front, front side-impact and side-curtain airbags are standard safety equipment. For 2009, the Ford Explorer Sport Trac receives trailer-sway control as standard equipment, and voice-activated navigation is now an available option. The Sport Trac achieves 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway in the V6, rear-wheel-drive trim. |
