For 2009, the Ford Econoline Cargo Van, America's best-selling full-size van, offers enhanced functionality, including a redesigned instrument panel and console, additional integrated storage areas, wider-opening rear doors and a host of available smart technologies, including an integrated navigation system, SIRIUS Travel Link and a reverse camera. Available as rear-wheel drive only, Ford Econoline Cargo Van standard features include a 4.6L V8 base engine rated at 225 hp and 286 lb-ft of torque, while a larger 5.4L V8 capable of 255 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque is optional, and both engines are paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The 4.6L and 5.4L can run on E85, pure gasoline or any blend in between. Engine upgrades include a 6.8L V10 engine good for 305 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque as well as a durable and more economical 6.0L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 engine that produces 235 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque, each coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission. Maximum tow ratings range from 6,000 pounds to 10,000 pounds. Four-wheel antilock disc brakes are standard. |
