The 2009 Dodge Charger is a 4-door, 5-passenger sports sedan with a wide range of trims. Available in SE, SXT, SXT AWD, RT, RT AWD and SRT8, you have the option of a mild-mannered sedan all the way up to a HEMI-powered monster. The SE is powered by a 2.7L V6 with 178 hp mated to a 4-speed automatic. The SXT and SXT AWD are powered by the 3.5L V6 making 250 hp, while the SXT AWD and all upper level trims receive the 5-speed automatic with Auto Stick. The R/T and RT AWD have the 5.7L HEMI V8 that produces 370 hp. The 2009 Dodge Charger SRT8 is at the top of the heap with a 6.1L HEMI V8 pushing out 425 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Dodge Charger standard features comprise an impressive list. New for AWD models for 2009 is the Active Transfer Case with front-axle disconnect which helps improve fuel economy by seamlessly transitioning between RWD and AWD when conditions allow.
