The 2009 Dodge Dakota is a mid-size pickup truck that is available in 2-door or 4-door crew cab trims. New for 2009 is the deletion of the SLT, Sport and TRX 4x2 trims. The new Big Horn/Lone Star trim replaces the SXT. Crate 'n Go storage is now a standard feature. A 4.7L V8 is now available on the Big Horn/Lone Star trim and the ST now has a tilt steering wheel as a standard feature. The base engine on the Dodge Dakota is a 3.7L V6 producing 215 hp and 235 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission is a 4-speed automatic. The 2009 Dodge Dakota photos show that the style of the truck is modern and functional. Gas mileage on the V6 is 14 city and 18 hwy. Standard features include an AM/FM radio with a CD/MP3 player, advanced multistage front airbags, power mirrors, one-touch-down drivers window and a rear 40/40 folding split seat. The optional 4.7L V8 pushes out 302 hp and 329 lb-ft of torque, while also achieving better mileage with 22 mpg on the highway.
