A carryover for 2009, the Chevrolet TrailBlazer offers the efficiencies of a midsize SUV with the capabilities of a larger vehicle. Providing a choice of two- or four-wheel drive, the LT version of the versatile five-passenger SUV comes equipped with a 4.2L inline six-cylinder engine producing 285 hp and 276 lb-ft of torque paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. Available only with four-wheel drive, Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS specifications feature a 6.0L V8 engine borrowed from the Corvette, which is rated at 390 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, teamed to a four-speed automatic transmission. In addition to a hefty towing capacity of up to 6,800 pounds, the TrailBlazer offers numerous refinements including dual-zone climate control and Bluetooth connectivity. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the TrailBlazer is rated at 14 mpg city/20 mpg hwy for the I6 trims, and 12/16 mpg for the V8 trims. Chevy TrailBlazer safety features include a driver information center, antilock disc brakes, traction control, side blind zone alert, Stabilitrak, OnStar and an array of airbags. |
