For 2009, the Chevrolet Express Cargo Van has an engine cooler for the 4.3L V6 engine as a standard feature. A fast-idle option has been added for the 6.0L V8. The Chevy Express Cargo Van is available in 3 trims (a 4th trim is available for commercial applications): the 1500, 2500 and 3500. Available engines are the 4.3L V6 producing 195 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, the 4.8L V8 making 279 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque and the 5.3L V8 generating 301 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque and is also available with a FlexFuel option. The Express Cargo Van 1500, 2500 and 3500 use a standard rear-wheel drive powertrain; however, the 1500 is available with optional all-wheel drive. The 2009 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van standard features include dual rear-load doors, a passenger-side swing-out door, the Hydra-Matic four-speed transmission, front airbags and 17-inch steel wheels. The Express Cargo Van achieves gas mileage of 15 mpg city/20 mpg hwy with the V6, 14 city mpg/18 mpg hwy with the 5.3L V8 gasoline engine and 10 city mpg/13 mpg hwy with the 5.3L V8 FlexFuel option. Dealer-installed options include a roof-mounted ladder package and a bulk-head divider.
