With a new look and a new engine the 2009 BMW 7-series, a four-door luxury sedan, is now in its 5th generation and continues to stretch the ideas of what a luxury sedan should be. Available in two trims, the 750i and the 750Li which has a 5.5-in longer wheelbase, both of which are powered by the 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 which produces 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission available is a six-speed automatic. The menu screen has increased in size and is powered by the second generation of the iDrive system. New 2009 BMW 7-Series options include night vision, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, DVD entertainment, and massaging rear seats. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, knee airbags, and curtain side airbags. Fuel Economy is yet to be determined but the turbochargers should help improve the EPA MPG numbers over previous models. |
