New for 2016: Mini

Mini, owned by BMW Group since 1994, is turning into a more upscale brand with two redesigned models for 2016 that replace the discontinued 2-seat Coupe and Roadster. Powered by efficient BMW engines, the 2016 Mini Cooper Convertible is a 4-seat, open-top car built on a larger BMW architecture. The second new model is the 2016 Mini Clubman 5-passenger family vehicle that is the largest Mini ever built. Both are available in more colors and variations with more premium features and technologies.

Following is an overview of new or updated features for each 2016 Mini model:

2016 Mini Cooper Clubman

Redesigned, bigger and longer than standard Cooper and Countryman models
5-passenger seating with forward-hinged rear doors
Black trim on bottom edges of body
Turbocharged 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder engines
Standard 6-speed manual transmission plus new 8-speed automatic for Clubman S
Rides on 16-in. aluminum wheels; S has 17-in. wheels
First Mini with power-adjustable front seats
Cargo space extends to 47.9 cu. ft.
New lighting, safety, and infotainment technologies
12 exterior paint colors, including “Mini Yours Lapisluxury Blue” with matching or different color roof and mirrors

New advanced driver-assistance, infotainment, and convenience technologies
Mini Hardtop now qualifies as a SULEV (super ultra-low-emissions vehicle) thanks to technical updates to the 3-cylinder engine
Mini Hardtop trim and grille finished in high gloss Piano Black instead of silver
