New for 2014: Buick

Jeff Youngs | Sep 10, 2013

2014 Buick Overview

For Buick, 2014 is a year of evolution and not revolution. No new models join the lineup of sedans and crossovers, and significant changes are few in number.

That said, General Motors' entry premium brand didn't simply stick with the status quo. Updates for 2014 include the availability of forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems on every Buick model, an updated IntelliLink infotainment system, and new paint colors. The Verano gets standard heated front seats on most trim levels, while the Regal offers revised styling, a new turbocharged engine, optional all-wheel drive (AWD), and a redesigned suspension system. Buick is also introducing a freshened LaCrosse for 2014, with notable improvements that include new seats and an optional Ultra Luxury Interior package.

2014 Buick Enclave

Since it received a significant number of changes in 2013, the 2014 Buick Enclave returns with only a few updates. These include new safety features, rear charge-only USB ports, and an IntelliLink infotainment system that sends an alert when selected songs are played on satellite radio. Text-to-voice technology is also incorporated into the system.

What's New

  • Available forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning systems
  • Two rear-seat charge-only USB ports
  • Updated IntelliLink infotainment system

2014 Buick Encore

Introduced in 2013, the Buick Encore small crossover greets the 2014 model year with a new blind-spot monitoring system and updated IntelliLink infotainment system. Available in front-wheel-drive (FWD) or AWD form, the 2014 Encore is equipped with a turbocharged, 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers an EPA-estimated 33 mpg on the highway. Buyers have the choice of four trim levels.

2014 Buick LaCrosse

Key upgrades mark the debut of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse sedan, with highlights including intelligent cruise control, updated styling, redesigned seats, and new safety features like lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and a vibrating safety seat that was first introduced by Cadillac. 2014 Buick Regal

Similar to the larger LaCrosse, the Buick Regal sedan undergoes its share of changes for 2014, one of which is a new turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 259 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Regal Turbo and GS variants share the power plant and, for the first time, output ratings (the 2013 Regal Turbo delivered 220 horsepower, while the Regal GS delivered 270 horsepower). According to Buick, Regal drivers can expect to average up to 31 mpg on the highway.

Complementing that 4-cylinder engine is a newly optional AWD system, as well as a revised rear suspension, massaged interior and exterior styling, new intelligent cruise control, and the updated IntelliLink infotainment system.

What's New

  • Updated styling inside and out
  • Front and rear LED lighting
  • Regal Turbo and Regal GS share new turbocharged engine
  • Maximum available horsepower decreased from 270 to 259
  • Improved fuel economy from turbocharged engine
  • Next-generation IntelliLink infotainment system
  • Optional AWD system
  • Rear suspension
  • Electric power steering on all Regal models
  • Additional safety features including intelligent cruise control

2014 Buick Verano

Buick's smallest sedan, which shares its architecture with the FWD Chevrolet Cruze, adds safety features, an updated infotainment system, and a new exterior color for 2014. With the exception of the base model, all 2014 Veranos now offer standard heated front seats and a universal garage door opener.

What's New

  • Updated IntelliLink infotainment system
  • Additional safety features including optional lane-departure warning
  • Smoky Gray Metallic paint color
