The 2014 Ford Explorer is a FWD full-size crossover offered with three different engines; a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 290 hp/255 lb-ft of torque, optional 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine that produces 240 hp/270 lb-ft of torque, and an optional 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that yields 365 hp/350 lb-ft of torque. Transmission options are comprised of a standard 6-speed automatic and an optional 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The Ford Explorer is essentially unchanged for 2014. There are a few new colors and Limited models now come standard with heated second row seats. Otherwise the vehicle remains identical to last year's model.
