Maintaining its 44.4 cubic feet of total cargo volume, the 2012 Mazda5's interior features a new design with a driver-oriented layout. SkyActiv technology is also employed on the heavily-revised Mazda3 resulting in better fuel economy without giving up road performance. Mazda dropped its radical, rotary-powered Mazda RX-8 sport coupe with the conclusion of the 2011 model year.
