Special features for 2010

Often described as a unique combination British style and German engineering, the MINI has re-branded itself based on its go-kart like handling and strong fuel economy wrapped in a stylish exterior. The MINI Cooper, in all its formulations, competes directly with the likes of the Mazda3, the Volvo C30 and the Volkswagen Golf. Mileage for the base Cooper model is estimated at 28 mpg city / 37 mpg highway.
A compact, four-passenger convertible, the 2010 MINI Cooper Convertible features a fully automatic soft-top roof. This roof retracts in only 15 seconds and incorporates an innovative sunroof. The base trim is powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder engine that produces 118 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque. The S trim employs a turbocharged version of the 1.6L which generates 172 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, and the performance John Cooper Works trim produces 208 hp and up to 207 lb-ft of torque from this same engine. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and a six-speed automatic with manual shift control is optional.
