Special features for 2009

The 2009 VW Touareg offers a luxurious interior, smooth ride, and impressive off-road capability. The powerful V6 and V8 engines offer strong performance in a capable chassis, and a turbo-diesel V6 TDI slated for later in the year should offer decent towing power and increased fuel efficiency.
A few revisions are in store for the 2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2, including a hard-drive-based navigation system. A midsize five-passenger SUV, the Touareg 2 offers the VR6 and V8 trim levels, which are both equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive and a low-range gear as standard. The VR6 trim level is powered by a 3.6L V6 engine that generates 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque and gets fuel economy in the range of 16 mpg city/20 mpg hwy and 16 mpg in combined driving. The V8 trim is propelled by a 4.2L V8 engine that packs 350 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque and gets 12/17/14 mpg in fuel economy. Properly equipped, the Touareg 2 can tow 7,700 pounds and features an impressive list of amenities, including a standard 12-way power driver's seat, power liftgate and power sunroof. Volkswagen Touareg 2 safety features include antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, hill descent and incline roll-back control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags, while an optional safety package provides adaptive cruise control and lane-change assist.
