Pontiac gains a new muscle car for 2009 in the form of the G8 GXP. The 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP sport sedan is powered by a 6.2-liter V-8 LS3 engine that produces 402 horsepower. Offered with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, 0 to 60-mile per hour acceleration for the G8 GXP is rated within the mid-four seconds. With an all-new coupe body style available for 2009, the Pontiac Solstice expands its reach in the performance car arena. A limited-slip differential is also a new option on the 2009 Solstice. Built alongside the Toyota Matrix at the California-based NUMMI plant, the Pontiac Vibe is redesigned. The sleek, new Vibe features a modernized front end and cleaner side panels free of plastic cladding. Four-wheel disc brakes, the choice of two four-cylinder engine and optional all-wheel drive is also part of the 2009 Pontiac Vibe. To attract first-time new car customers and economical drivers, the Pontiac line-up incorporates a subcompact called the G3.
